Welcome to BIF Omaha 2002
Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc., and Angus Productions Inc. are pleased to bring you online coverage of the 2002 Beef Improvement Federation (BIF) annual conference. Scheduled for July 10-13, 2002, in Omaha, Neb., the conference will explore a subject that lies at the very heart of beef industry profitability efficiency.
Wednesday nights opening session focuses on how to define both biological and economic efficiency in beef production, while Thursday presentations highlight measuring efficiency and cow-calf profitablity. Friday sessions feature methods to predict efficiency. In addition, BIF committees will address emerging technology; multiple-trait selection; the live animal, carcass and end point; genetic prediction; producer applications; and whole-herd analysis.
We hope you will use this site prior to the conference to access registration materials, view the event schedule, preview speaker bios, and review the 2001 BIF award winners. Link to BIFs home page to learn more about the organization, and link to event sponsors the Nebraska Cattlemen and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
During the conference, well update the site with proceedings and overviews of the presentations, announcements of the 2002 BIF honorees, coverage of the Nebraska beef industry tour and reports of what was discussed during the event.
Enjoy the conference.
