Jay Wolf, owner of Wagonhammer Cattle Co., Bartlett, NE, explains the operation to tour attendees. Wolf says the ranch was started by his grandfather and great uncle, who imported draft horses when they first settled into the area.

Bronze statue artist Herb Mignery, originally from Bartlett, NE, recently created this statue for the community. Entitled "Silent Leather," it was funded by the community as a symbol of "Ancestors and relatives whose voices are no longer heard". There is only one other statue exactly like it, in Beaver Creek, CO.

The commercial herd at Wagonhammer consists of 1,500 head of Charolais females sired by Angus bulls.
