Nagel Cattle Company, Springfield, SD, is a family owned purebred Maine Anjous operation that has focused on performance and bulls for commercial cattlemen. They have also been recognized as a regional Environmental Stewardship winner.Nagel Cattle Company is comprised of three different ventures, including a cow-calf operation and two feedlots. Nagels manage approximately 250 head of registered Main Anjous. The two feedlots have a capacity of 25,000 to 30,000 head of cattle. A majority of those are heifers and customer feeding. Nagels also have a customer program where customer’s calves can be fed out and carcass data can be obtained in return.
Cindy Nagel owns and operates Midwest Sonatech and is an ultrasound technician. Each spring, she handles between 12,000 to 14,000 head of cattle.
