Collier Beefmasters
Mike Collier and his wife, Rhonda, own and operate Collier Farms Beefmasters of Brenham, Texas. Mike first began breeding Beefmaster cattle in 1987 and currently owns more than 600 head of registered and recipient cattle and 250 head in the E-6 Division. The ranch includes purebred Beefmasters on ranches in Washington, Austin and Dewitt counties and an embryo division in Lee County.
Collier Farms holds biannual production sales and an annual performance bull sale in November. The company regularly consigns Beefmaster cattle and E-6 Beefmasters to major stock shows, including San Antonio Livestock Exposition and Houston Livestock Show, as well as BBU's National E-6 sale. In addition to domestic sales, Mike has marketed volume shipments of purebred Beefmaster cattle, semen and embryos to South and Central American countries, Mexico, Thailand and Africa.
Mike and Rhonda were honored to receive the BBU Breeder of the Year award in 2006 and the Environmental Award in 2011. Mike graduated from Rice University in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in management and graduated in 1985 from South College of Law with a Juris Doctor degree.
Mike is owner and president of Collier Construction Inc., a general contracting and construction management firm specializing in the construction of schools, churches and commercial construction throughout south, central and southeast Texas areas.
A third-generation cattle rancher, Mike is a lifetime member of BBU, has served on various BBU committees, and has chaired the Breed Improvement Committee and the BBU Ethics Committee. He is currently serving BBU as president. He has served on the board of the South Texas Beefmaster Breeders Association and currently serves as president. He is a member of several BBU satellites and marketing groups, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
Mike and Rhonda have four adult children and three grandchildren.
